Who we are

The Peacemaker is provided by Faff:Naught, the trading name of Faff Naught Ltd. Contact thepeacemaker@faffnaught.com for privacy questions or data requests.

Data we process

  • Account data: user ID, email address, and any display name provided by Google sign-in.
  • Subscription data: OCR entitlement status, expiry, product identifiers, and related purchase events.
  • OCR operations: receipt images you choose to submit are sent through our Convex backend to Google Gemini. Images are not stored in our account database after processing.
  • Reliability records: limited request outcomes, timestamps, platform/app version, latency, token counts, and privacy-safe error codes.
  • Local data: bill history, people, items, totals, splits, saved groups, and preferences stay on your device.

How we use data

We use this information to maintain sign-in, confirm OCR access, process receipt scans you request, prevent abuse, support purchases, and diagnose service reliability. The legal bases are performance of our contract, legitimate interests in protecting the service, and applicable legal obligations.

Who processes data

  • Convex provides authentication, backend functions, and account/operational storage.
  • Google provides sign-in and Gemini receipt extraction.
  • RevenueCat manages subscription and entitlement information.

We do not sell personal data.

Retention and security

Local data remains until you delete it, clear app storage, or uninstall. Account and operational records are retained only as long as needed to provide the service, protect it, handle support or billing, and meet legal obligations. Service secrets remain server-side and data is transmitted using encrypted connections.

Your choices and rights

You may use manual bill splitting without an account or OCR. You may request access, correction, restriction, or deletion of account data. Use the dedicated account-deletion page to start a verified request.

Children, complaints, and changes

The app is not directed to children under 13. UK users may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We may update this policy as the product evolves; the date above identifies the current version.
